Time Out #65...Hang in There

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this time is 'inspired by words'.

'Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year."  --Chad Sugg

I decided to focus on the theme of encouragement in the quote, as well as a tree with falling leaves.  I used an old PTI stamp set, Trendy Tree Tops.  This card is on its way to a dear friend in need of some encouragement.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Rema, so please stop by her blog to see what she has created for this challenge.  CAS-ual Friday's is our sponsor for this challenge.  Details for the prize are on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

This challenge will run for two weeks.  I hope you will take some Time Out of your busy schedule to play along with us.

Happy Little Stampers Case The Designer September 2016...Happy Birthday

Hello and happy September.  I'm here to post a card for Happy Little Stampers Case the Designer challenge.

Our inspiration this month is provided by Åsa.  Take a look at this gorgeous inspiration card.

I was inspired by Asa's colored bird, her theme of happy birthday with a big 'happy' and also the focal point on a die cut circle.

I used my Technique Tuesday Chickadees, lightly colored with Copics.  I die cut a stitched circle, and then inlaid it back into the card front, after popping up the card front with foam tape.  I wanted a little bit of added dimension to the card.

Our challenge will run for the entire month of September.  I hope you will play along.  Please head over to the Happy Little Stampers Case the Designers blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the design team.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: August, 2016

It's time for our August 12 Kits of Occasions post.  This month, Lisa is our hostess and her theme is 'Sweet Pea'.  She sent a wonderful package full of pretty papers, sequins, stamped images and die cuts.  This kit is so very special for one big reason--it features stamped images from the Sweet Pea stamp set that Lisa designed for Precious Remembrance.

I only got to play with this kit for a few days, as most of my August was spent on the road for one reason or another.  However, I was lucky enough to get the kit with the self assembling cards, and I found that before I knew it, I had already made 4 cards.

Of course, I have lots of leftovers as well. I can't wait to see what everyone else did with their supplies so I can CASE them with my leftovers.

Here is a peek at the kit Lisa sent out.

Here are the cards I made this month:

I used so many of the elements in this kit, but still have so much left over.  Thanks so much, Lisa, for sending such a wonderful kit.

That's it for me today.  Please visit us over at the 12 Kits of Occasions blog, where you can see a list of all the other designers and click over to their blogs.  You can also get information on how to participate in the two give aways we have for you this month.

We also have a guest designer this month, Greta, so please check out what she created with her Sweet Pea kit.

CASology Week #213: Stitch

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is Stitch.

I pulled out a real oldie but goodie for this card--remember PTI Button Boutique?  I decided to make a baby card featuring buttons--something you would stitch on--and faux stitching two ways.

I used a die to put faux stitches around the top panel of my card, and a stamp to add some faux stitches to my focal point.

Now, it's your turn.  How does STITCH inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

CASology Week #212: Fun

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is Fun.

Now, when I was first thinking about 'fun', laundry was not the first thing that popped into my mind. However, as I searched for whatever I was originally looking for, I happened across this Lawn Fawn Loads of Fun stamp set--uninked and begging to be used.

.
A little bit of paper piecing and coloring later, and I have a humorous birthday card.  I can think of a number of friends I could send a card like this to.

Hard to see from this photo, but I actually cut the washer out twice, cut a circle out of the top layer and covered it with clear card stock.  The laundry is not actually free moving, but it does have the look of a shaker card.

Now, it's your turn.  How does FUN inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

Time Out #64...Happy Birthday

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this week is a CASE challenge.  We have this fun and wonderful card by Julia of Just One More Card.

I was inspired by Julia's airplane and the diagonal striped frame.  I thought her card was so whimsical and fun, and tried to capture that spirit in my CASE of her card.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Jenny.

CASology Week #211: Dream

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is Dream.

I combined a sentiment from PTI Get Lost with sentiments and images from PTI Retro Style Graduation to make a graduation card.  Transitional events like graduations seem to be a good time to take stock of one's dreams and make a plan to pursue them.

Funny thing about that little road sign that my daughter (a recent high school grad) pointed out to me when I showed her this card--why would the 'aspirations' point in the opposite direction of your 'hopes' and 'dreams' ?  How does that make sense?  Do you need to give up one in order to pursue the other?  Well, I think she is right, but I guess whoever made the stamp set thought that it would look better to have the arrows alternating.  Interesting food for thought....

While I had my Misti set up, I made a second version of this card in a different color scheme.

Now, it's your turn.  How does DREAM inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.

ColourQ #355...Thank You

It's time for another color challenge at ColourQ.  I have been traveling a lot this summer, and thought I'd be sitting out this ColourQ.  But, lucky for me, Arielle posted this fun color combination while I was making a quick set of thank you cards for my daughters to use.  It was so easy for me to use these colors on one of the cards.

These flat thank you's are my daughters' favorite type for thank you cards.  They are cute and easy, and there isn't a lot of space for writing.  I am getting my oldest daughter ready to head to college, where her school mascot is a polar bear.  I pulled out PTI Warmest Wishes, and just started coloring in some of the accessories.

The stamp set has a polar bear, fox and penguin, and I just pulled together a good variety, ending up with 8 cards of the same basic design.

Please head over to the ColourQ blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team.  I hope you will play along this week.

Time Out #63...Reminder...Peace

There is still time to play along with the current challenge at Time Out.  Our challenge this week is a theme challenge with an optional twist.

The theme is holidays with the optional twist of no stamping (sentiment stamp allowed).

I used a word die cut for my sentiment, and framed it with a Winter Floral Cover Plate die cut.  CAS with lots of detail, but still no stamping.

Please head over to Time Out to see more inspiration from our Design Team and Guest Designer. Our Guest Designer this week is Aileen.  We are sponsored this week by Uniko.

CASology Week #210: Dizzy

Hello and happy Tuesday. It's time for another challenge at CASology.   This week, our cue word is Dizzy.

I used a fun birthday sentiment set from PTI called Script Swirls.  I think if you tried to read this sentiment, it might make you dizzy.

To enhance the dizzy feel of this card, I used some dies to cut my layers and adhered them tilted and askew.

Now, it's your turn.  How does DIZZY inspire you?  I hope you play along this week. Please remember to keep it Clean and Simple.

Please head on over to the CASology blog and gather some inspiration from the design team.
